Did you know that VHL (von hippel-lindau) is a genetic disorder where patients develop tumors throughout their body and there is currently no cure? I have had this illness my entire life, resulting in the loss of my sight and multiple brain, spinal cord, and kidney operations. I am currently taking one of the medications that has been funded by this research with the hope that I may never need to have another debilitating surgical intervention again.

As this cause is profoundly personal to me, I have signed up for the VHLA walk to raise funds and awareness for VHL. The money raised will support patients and their families and will fuel research efforts. VHL research has led to the development of 9 lifesaving drugs used to treat cancer and could someday lead to a cure for VHL as well as all cancers!
