May is VHL Awareness month! VHL (von hippel-lindau) is a genetic disorder where patients develop tumors throughout their body during their entire lifetime. I was diagnosed with VHL when I was six years old and have had three surgeries to remove tumors from my adrenal glands over the years. My mom, each of her siblings, and most of my cousins have undergone many surgeries to remove manifestations. It is really important to me to spread awareness and raise the much-needed funds to find a cure for this disease.
The money raised from this effort will support patients and their families and will fuel research efforts. VHL research has led to the development of 9 lifesaving drugs used to treat cancer and could someday lead to a cure for all cancers!
Please support my fundraising goal by making a donation to my page. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by VHL.
